Patreon Preview – Art of the Storm

It’s this time of the month again, hurray! The Patreon rewards are coming along nicely, so I want to give you guys a sneak peek of all the goodies that are about to come this month for my patrons. It’s still a work-in-progress, but I’m almost there guys!

For those who are not familiar with Patreon: it’s a small subscription service for people to support their favourite creators. Every month, patrons donate an amount of their own choosing, and get some nice rewards in return depending on the size of the donation. I reward my patrons with some tutorials and interface art. Here’s a summary of the rewards:

Recap of my Patreon tiers:

Tier 1 “Tea Leaf Novice” – Patreon Activity Feed
Tier 2 “Tea Plant Apprentice” – Patreon Activity Feed + Texture Package
Tier 3 “Tea Cup Initiate” – Patreon Activity Feed + Texture Package + Tutorial Package
Tier 4 “Tea Pot Adept” – Patreon Activity Feed + Texture Package + Tutorial Package + Border Package
Tier 5 “Tea Festivity Master” – Patreon Activity Feed + Texture Package + Tutorial Package + Border Package + Themed Art Package

So the rewards below are June’s reward and will be sent out to my patrons between July 1-7 (if pledging a donation before June 30).

Textures are simple art files that can be implemented with SharedMedia and add a nice color palette to your unit frames / status bars / cast bars etc. Or it can be used as a texture for WeakAuras! I recommend color tinting some of them in-game as well, but only a little.

This month’s tutorial I will be talking about model auras (which for the major part will be spell animations in this tutorial) and how to decorate a Storm Crow with them and add a small proc trigger. A.k.a. add some animated lightning on the bird and make it fly when you have a certain buff, for example.

The border package can be used as a stand-alone minimalistic UI, or as a complement to the themed art package. I’ve still have a lot of work to do before I’m done with this package (adding corners, dividers and more), but it’ll be finished in time! I’ll also do some inspirational images of how you can make a UI of them as well.

So this month’s interface art is the Storm UI. It’s still not done, I have some polishing I’d like to do before the deadline of June 30th. But it turned out really well so far! Here’s an explanation of the pieces:

Chat: A small background piece for the chat and/or recount windows.
ActionbarBG: A background for the action bars, plus a storm sphere that procs lightning when Bloodlust is active.
Castbar: The swirly bar in the middle shows the progress of your casts.
Procs: The mirrored arches in the middle is a proc aura that you can set to show different kinds of procs. I use mine for when I have big cooldowns active.
Player / Target Frame: A little more abstract in this UI. The lightning bolts at the left and right side are the frames; the spheres within show how much health and power you have (upper spheres show health, lower spheres show power).
Panel: At the top of the screen, there’s a panel for various information. I use mine as a background for buffs and debuffs.
Minimap border: A nice border for a round minimap, found in the upper right corner.
Resource Bar: If you look in the middle, there’s a spade-like shape. This contains the texture of two gems that can be “depleted”. Right gem shows health and left shows power (also shows it in percentage in-game).

If you’d like to own this art yourself, head over to my Patreon and pledge for the reward tier that interest you the most! Money will be withdrawn at the night of June 30th, no matter when you pledged, and I will send out the rewards for all patrons (whose pledge have been processed) somewhere between July 1-7th.

If you pledge after June 30th, you will instead be eligible for next month’s rewards (which I will work on at the same time). And so the cycle continues!

Thank you for your support ♥
