New Alpha Build – Tier 19 and Talent changes

Good morning! The new alpha build has been datamined and it is filled with all kinds of new stuff and changes. I don’t know why, but it feels a bit like Christmas come early whenever we get new information. Anyway, without further ado, let’s dig into it!

  • Effuse‘s cast time has been reduced to 1 sec down from 1.5 sec.
  • Our Mastery: Gusts of Mists has been given a better description:
    • “Your Effuse, Renewing Mist, Enveloping Mist, and Vivify also cause a gust of healing mists, instantly healing the primary target for [0.01% of Spell Power].”
  • Thunder Focus Tea‘s cooldown has been reduced to 30 sec, down from 45 sec. It only empowers Effuse by 100% instead of 200% now.

Tier 19 Monks

Well, first impression: it finally looks like a Monk tier made of leather, good job Blizzard! I particularly like the green and blue version, very pretty! They will probably look even prettier when we can see them on another character than human male. Blizz also mentioned that they will incorporate elements from each of the three specs’ artifacts. If you look closely, you can see the Fists of Heaven’s whirlwind in the belt, the ropes from Fu-Zan and the spheres on the shoulders looks like the gem on the bell of Sheilun (master versions). See if you can spot some more similarities!

To top things off, we have some new information on Class Hall champions. Champions will work a bit like today’s garrison followers, except they are fewer, have a more personal relationship with you, and are generally more epic. They will go on missions and unlock stuff for you to do in the open world, instead of doing things for you. Sounds great to my ears!

Li Li and Chen we knew since before – but we also have Taran Zhu and the Monkey King! Holy cow! They are a fantastic addition to our team. But the rest of the followers seems to be new character to the universe (as far as my googling goes). Hopefully, whoever they are, we get to know them personally with an epic questline.

That’s all for now! Until next time~

  1. personally, i’m not hyped with mw changes of being a hard-caster in legion. apart from fistweaving, instant-casting-while-soothing is what sets mw apart from another healer. there’s much more flexibelity in that, and being a hard-caster robbed us our unique identity. so much for flexibility which was advertised by blizzard.

and also, the talent mistwalk is kinda dumb. we are ranged healer, for what point exactly we want to be in melee? i’m lost of words here…

i hope this is not final. DK has been received major changes in talent recently. i hope for the same thing for monk. and i wish they retain the current gameplay in upcoming Legion
