Hans'gar and Franzok

Hans’gar and Franzok are twin brothers raised and trained as masterful brawlers of their clan. Both carved paths of glory as warriors, but destiny had other plans. The brothers, each unwilling to slat the other in the rite of mak’gora, were banished from their clan and left for dead. They survived as outcasts in the savage wilds of Draenor, and when the Iron Horde called, these powerful warriors found a new home in the massive war machine.

Healing Strategy

The fight against Hans’gar and Franzok requires high environment awareness and a lot of movement. You will be fighting against them while dodging environmental dangers, which consists of five conveyor belts, inv_ingot_titansteel_redSearing Plates that alternately takes up the conveyor belts and inv_ingot_titansteel_bluePulverize/Stamping Presses which descends from the ceiling and pulverizes any player who doesn’t move away from them. There will also be fire that erupts from the walls where the conveyor belts emerge or disappears into to force players to move when the conveyor belts are active. One of the bosses will jump off at one point and active any of the environment effects, sometimes two at a time. The Searing Plates and the Stamping Presses occur in a random pattern.

Hansgar and FranzokWhen the Conveyor belts are active, you have to stand between the belts, where there is a small unmoving strip of floor. If you stand there you can cast uninterrupted. But once the Searing Plates comes in from the sides of the room, you’ll most likely get hit by them even if you stand between the belts. Move out of the Searing Plates path to avoid taking damage. The same with the Stamping Presses, they have much larger hit box than the animation conveys.

At some point during the fight, you’ll have to deal with moving conveyor belts plus the stamping presses (never searing plates and stamping presses at the same time). Keep an eye out for the environmental dangers and you can easily avoid them!

Body Slam IndicatorNow for the bosses. Hans’gar and Franzok, the orc twins, are masters at brawling. They will not only be clobbering the tanks, once in a while each of them will leap towards a random player and do ability_hanzandfranz_bodyslamBody Slam, which causes achievment_boss_spineofdeathwingShattered Vertebrae to all players within 12 yards. If hit, players will take 30% increased damage from all physical attacks. Most notably, ability_vehicle_sonicshockwaveAftershock which comes directly after the Body Slam, which does ticking physical damage to the whole raid (higher damage on players with Shattered Vertebrae). Players must avoid Body Slam! The player who gets fixated will get a red arrow above her head, which means the player must run out of the raid to avoid spreading the debuff.

The orc twins will also pick up the tanks and smash them into each other, causing extreme amount of damage. The ability is called ability_hanzandfranz_chestbumpCrippling Suplex, and it must be mitigated with CDs. Healers should rotate damage mitigation CDs on the tanks as well. Mistweavers can contribute with Life Cocoon.

Franzok will also cast ability_garrosh_hellscreams_warsongDisrupting Roar, which interrupt your spell casting. Mistweaver abilities that do not get interrupted are instant spells and Mana Tea, Chi Torpedo, Spinning Crane Kick or Rushing Jade wind. If you are channelling Soothing Mist or casting Uplift, cancel the cast to avoid getting interrupted and locked out from healing for the next 5 seconds.

He will also cast inv_mace_1h_pvppandarias1_d_01Skullcracker on a random player which causes unavoidable spikey damage. Healers should be alert to this and react quickly once it happens.

Mistweaver Specifics 2

In this fight, Xuen is not a good choice since he will not always be able to cleave and the bosses jumps around too much. Either use Rushing Jade Wind or Chi Torpedo, a little depending on how your raid is stacking and spreading. I mostly go with Chi Torpedo since it’s nice to have the extra mobility in this fight. But Rushing Jade Wind is a strong choice if your raid stay slightly stacked.

Everything in this fight is Physical Damage, except the searing plates and the fire that comes from the sides. Dampen Harm is a really good talent to have here, and if you get caught in the Stamping Presses you can mitigate some of the damage with it.

This fight can be quite difficult to heal because of the high movement. Try to find a safe spot as soon as possible and cram in as much healing as you can while you stand still. Once you’re on the move again, you’ll be limited to Renewing Mist, Expel Harm and Chi Torpedo/Rushing Jade Wind.

Serpent Tactics 2

  • Avoid the following environment effects;
    • inv_ingot_titansteel_redSearing Plates
    • inv_ingot_titansteel_blueStamping Presses and
    • spell_fire_immolationScorching Burns, the fire at the end of each side of the room.
  • If you can’t avoid Stamping Presses, use Dampen Harm (Talent)Dampen Harm or Fortifying BrewFortifying Brew to mitigate the damage.
  • Tanks will take heavy damage on ability_hanzandfranz_chestbumpCrippling Suplex. Healers should rotate mitigation cooldowns and Mistweavers can use Life CocoonLife Cocoon.
  • If targeted by ability_hanzandfranz_bodyslamBody Slam (red arrow above your head) move away from the raid.
  • Don’t stand near anyone who gets the Body Slam indicator.
    • Players who get hit by Body Slam will get a achievment_boss_spineofdeathwingShattered Vertebrae and will take increased physical damage from all sources.
  • After Body Slam, the raid will take physical AoE damage from the ability_vehicle_sonicshockwaveAftershocks.
  • Don’t cast or channel when Franzok does ability_garrosh_hellscreams_warsongDisrupting Roar. Mana TeaMana Tea and Chi TorpedoChi Torepdo / Rushing Jade Wind (Talent)Rushing Jade Wind is fine however.
  • RevivalRevival should be used during the Stamping Presses phase.

Crane tactics 2

  • You can open up in Crane stance and get some extra mana Tea stacks, though you won’t need too much this fight.
  • Avoid standing within 12 yds of the tanks when they get targeted for Body Slam.
