I’ve been doing some housecleaning in the teahouse and I’ve realized that some pages must be canned due to irrelevance. The Legion pages doesn’t have any bearing on today’s game. But instead of throwing them out the window, I’ve decided to keep them in a new Legacy tab, where I also archived my old Warlords of Draenor pages.

My blog is a constant work in progress, and I have a whole list of things I want to go through. For example, I want to update every single page for BFA, but also sort out the outdated pages. The standard procedure is that I remove the expansion-specific pages by changing their status from published page to a draft, and then they rest in my archive forever. But now I thought, maybe some people could still have use of all that content, so I’m gonna let it stay published.

I took a break from writing guides and did a fun little video instead!
My cleaver readers might already know about these little Mistweaver tricks, but there could be some people out there who have missed it. New Mistweavers could also learn something too! But to be honest, I just wanted an excuse to do a fun video with silly music. Pandarens are hilarious to play around with.
As I have had it pointed out to me, one could argue that this is a *monk* acrobatics video, not just Mistweaver. But there is only one spec of Monks, so I have no idea what people are on about. What, brewers and windies? No idea, peeps.

The encounter guides for Blackrock Foundry’s Wing end bosses are finally done. You can now read the Mistweaver specific guides for Kromog, Iron Maidens and the Blast Furnace. So don your reading glasses and dig yourself into the mysterious ways of the Mistweaver in the fiery Foundry. The wing end bosses are the hardest bosses, bar Blackhand himself. Keep your brews and teas in check at all times.

The only guide I have left to write now is the Lord of Blackrock Clan, Blackhand. That guide will come eventually! I have a few other projects I am working on in the meanwhile. Can’t say I’m ever done writing or posting on this blog, haha.
The patch 6.1 brought a lot of changes for Mistweavers, most notably about Mana Tea and the talent tree. Since many of our healing spells emanate from the talent tree, there were many changes to consider to our normal healing rotation. I’ve updated the Mistweaver Talent Guide for the 6.1 changes and I have also made smaller adjustments to the Basic Mistweaver Guide and the Advanced Mistweaver Guide to accommodate those changes.
Among the fun changes, we have that Chi Explosion’s Serpent version got buffed from 1511% of SP to 1875% which is nice. It is also usable without breaking Soothing Mist channel, which I wonder why they didn’t have from the start. It’s just so user-friendly right now and it is really coming together with the other Mistweaver toolkits. It still isn’t as powerful as Uplift (two casts is at 1980%), but the difference is quite minimal so you will not have a huge healing loss if you prefer Chi Explosion over Uplift. You can bridge the disparity with the tier 17 2-set bonus even, so if you like Chi Explosion better there’s nothing stopping you.

The new patch is here with all the goodiness that comes with. I’m already writing updates for my talent guide and everything that is affected in the Basic and Advanced Mistweaving Guide. While we have gotten a lot buffs in our talent tree, Mana Tea had a nerf-ish because of a change in mechanics. It could cause a slight mana-problem until you get those spirit trinkets.
Pre-6.1, Mana Tea stacks always gave 4% of base mana up to 20 stacks, which gave 80% of our mana pool back. Now in 6.1 it has changed to 3 times our unbuffed (passive) spirit. Here’s the table to the right.

A little while ago I did a post about the Tier 17 set bonuses. In the 2-set bonus section I claimed that the Mistweaving buffs affected other spells apart from the Soothing Mist cast and all the spells you layer with it. There was some debate about it though, so I set out to collect enough data to emphasize my point. There will be a lot of maths and data below, for those who are interested. If you only want to read the result, jump down to the end of the post.
There were two things I wanted to find out; if clipping the channel would add the buff to spells you clip SoM with (a topic which I didn’t discuss preciously) and if the 2-set bonus also affected other spells than Soothing Mist and accompanied spells.
I took off all my gear accept the tier chest and the tier shoulders from normal difficulty. Those two sets adds 116 multistrike rating, 116 mastery rating, 135 crit rating and 165 haste rating. My multistrike percentage was at 1,85%. This way, it would be very easy to spot a 15-40% increase in multistrike chance.

A few more videos of me doing heroic bosses in Blackrock Foundry! Enjoy~

I really hadn’t expect it to come so soon! Folks, this means that next Wednesday we will have Chi Explosion instant while Soothing, we will have several talents overhauls, Mana Tea will be based on your passive spirit and oh dear god I need a new spirit trinket.
We will have new twitter integration (which I will abuse to no end), Heirloom tabs, world bosses you can summon to your garrison, updated light graphics and anti-aliasing for the game, new blood elf models, continuation on the legendary quest line etc. etc.
I’m most scared about the Mana Tea change and most excited about Chi Explosion. I have to update my talent page to sync it with all the new talents changes. I think most changes are good, or so it seems, and we will have a lot of fun with the 6.1 changes. Though the Mana Tea is a little bit concerning since we rely on it so heavily. Mistweavers will really have to stack passive spirit to make it work, and if I get to speculate, there might be a bit higher pressure to open up in Crane stance and stack Mana Tea in every fight to counter the lower mana we get from each stack. Quantity over quality, I guess.

I’ve finished three of my Blackrock Foundry encounter guides, namely Gruul, Hans’gar & Franzok and Beastlord Darmac. I will not write the guides wing-per-wing, part because that’s not how you progress in BRF and part because the Misty Teahouse does not like sense and order. A little chaos once in a while will not hurt!

New for these guides is a small Mistweaver discussion about which talents and glyphs can suit that particular fight. Hopefully this will help you make strategic choices for each fight and optimize yourself as best as you can!

For you who have missed it, I’ve uploaded some new videos on Youtube. My Heroic Gruul and Flamebender Ka’graz kill, with vids of me doing Proving Grounds completely in Crane stance. Just for the fun of it.
In a typical Misty Teahouse fashion, it’s sporadic and never in order. But they’re here now, so enjoy!
