UI Inspiration Page Updates

I’ve done a small update on my blog and added new images of my current UI on the UI Inspiration page. Sakresse has also obliged with new and sparkly images of her Legion UI! I want to keep filling the page however, so I will need your help!

UI Inspiration Page

I’m terribly slow at updating my blog pages, I know, but I’m getting there. The UI Inspiration page has gotten a small update now at least. I’ve added my own and Sakresse’s UI, and my Patreon interfaces. You can get inspiration from those and of course my old UIs.

Mistweaver Notes – Mythic Ursoc

Here is a clean version of my personal notes from Ursoc mythic encounter. If you want to add any knowledge or help other players with the encounter, feel free to comment and discuss below!

Ursoc Mechanics

  • ursocUrosc charges the player affected by Focused Gaze after 6 seconds. The further away the player is from Ursoc, the less damage the player takes by Trampling Slam. When he hits the player, the raid takes damage by Barreling Impact, which does less damage the more players are standing in it.
  • Players hit by Barreling Impact get the Momentum debuff, which means they can’t always help soak the Impact.
  • Split the raid into two groups and let them rotate to soak Barreling Impact!
  • The raid should soak the damage of Roaring Cacophony together by standing close to Ursoc when he casts it. Never stand in the Miasma patches that are left behind.
  • Roaring Cacophony does more and more damage each time he casts it. Barreling Impact also deals high damage.
  • High tank damage. If the two tank debuffs (Overwhelm and Rend Flesh) aren’t handled properly, the tanks will die.
  • Roaring Cacaphony and Barreling Impact are physical damage, Diffuse Magic does not help. Consider Dampen Harm.
  • At 30%, Ursoc enrages and you enter the burn phase (Blood Frenzy).

Xavius Mythic Kill Video

Yesterday, my guild finally took down the last boss of the Emerald Nightmare, mythic. And I actually remembered to record this time! Hallelujah! So, if you’re interested in seeing the kill or having a look at my current healer UI, it’s now at your disposal here or at YouTube.

The Emerald Nightmare Journey

Emerald Nightmare has definitely been fast-paced and, from the context of things, rather brief. Part, because EM seems to be a soft start to Legion (it has been indicated that it’ll be a rather long expansion), and hasn’t been the most challenging raid. Probably because tiers doesn’t drop from the raid and no one started with a fully fleshed-out Artifact. I have a feeling that Nighthold might give us more to chew on.

Mistweaver Notes – Emerald Nightmare

Whenever I’m gonna tackle a new raid, I study and take notes of each boss encounter. Here are my notes for the Emerald Nightmare raid (Heroic). My guild cleared both Normal and Heroic the first week of release, so I haven’t spent much time doing these encounters but the notes should be rather complete. I’ve snuck a few Mistweaver tips in there as well!

“Darkbough” Wing

Nythendra

  • 1-nythendraStand 8 yds away from allies when affected by Rot. When expired, green patch will spawn beneath you. Put puddles at the edge of a room at a designated location.
  • Run out of Infested Breath. It targets random non-tank players. Make sure that the subsequent puddles are as stacked as possible by having players standing near existing puddles when breath is incoming.
  • Do not stand near insects when Heart of the Swarm is active. Puddles will also be sucked into the boss, watch out for flying green patches (which is why you want to stack them, so there are safe areas in this phase).
  • Infested debuff stacks inevitably during the fight and is cleared at Heart of the Swarm.
  • Chi-Ji / Revival / Mana Tea on Infested Breath and/or Heart of the Swarm.
  • High points of raid damage; if caught in Infested Breath, if standing close to insects during Heart of the Swarm, or if close to a tank’s Volatile Rot detonation. Use Diffuse Magic for survival.

Brushing up on Proving Grounds and Else

Arena of Annihilation

We are in a phase where every guild, that is still raiding, is progressing but not much else is happening. The wait for Blizzcon is excruciatingly long. No, in fact, it is longer than that. In the eve of boredom, what shall we do to endure this wait? Well, I for one, have been brushing up on my Proving Grounds skills. For you who don’t know, I transferred to Draenor EU and became horde Panda. On my new server, there was a Mistweaver who had a few more points than me in PG. Competitive as I am, I promptly broke that record (at wave 65). In the process, I broke the best Healer record on the server as well. Go figure. But I still have my eyes at wave 70!

After my PG session, I took a peek at my PG guide and noticed that it needed some brushing up. So I have been dusting it up and polished it a little, added some more information about gear choice, macros and such. Images have been updated and I have also proof-read the guide, since I am usually very lazy about such things and I figured… Well, I have to do it sometime! Below you can find the links. Notice that I have renamed “The Healing Guide” to “Preparation Guide” for the sake of clarity.

Silver Strategy – Wave setup for Silver, including strategy breakdown

Gold Strategy – Wave setup and cooldown distribution for Gold, including strategy breakdown

WeakAura Hub added to Misty Teahouse

Painting

My labours have finally come to an end. If you look up a little on the page, to the blog’s menu, you’ll see a new addition: “WeakAura Hub”. Since I have put so much passion and effort into my own UI, I thought I would share some of the wisdom I’ve come by. Not only does it contain my WeakAura Library, a page about WA skins, my WeakAura School, but also a page about my UI Philosophy and a page for some inspiration. I really hope you guys will like it. It will be continued work in progress and I’ll try to add things as I go along (more WeakAuras to come, definitely).

WeakAura Hub

  • WeakAura Library – A library filled with export codes to different Mistweaver weakauras.
  • WeakAura Skins – A summary of different skinning addons I use to WA.
  • WeakAura School – A guide to building your own auras.
  • UI Philosophy – I talk about my own UI, how I think and reason behind creative decisions. A helpful page for those who need an extra helping hand with their own UI!
  • UI Inspiration – Some inspiration for you guys.

That’s it for now. Let me know what you think!

Mistweaver Strategy Guide Updated!

Finally done with the first updates.
These pages are updated for Mistweavers 6.0 and beyond, so take a look!

– For a list of all MW abilites go to —-> Spellbook
– If you’re interested in the new talents go to —-> Talents
– If you want to know about stats and glyphs go to —-> Build
– If you need help with rotation and strategies go to —-> Strategy

Since the tuning keep changing the spell coefficients I have simply put in [X%] or [X% of Spell Power] where the spell equation is supposed to go. I will be updating them when Warlords of Draenor hits. Hopefully Blizzard has made up their mind by then.

In the meantime, take a look at the guides. Hopefully you’ll learn something new. I’ll keep working on the Proving Grounds guide for now. I’ll just might get it up before the next century (damn, it got immense).

Take care!

Rebuffing Forum Negativity

Dear Mr and Miss Foruma-Activa (can I call you that?). I address you after hearing the alarming news that the Sha of Negativity has gate-crashed the forums after the launch of 6.0. While he’s always been a bit of clingy bugger, he is now blooming like a teenager on her sweet sixteen (it’s an American custom, I’ve heard). According to the forums there is not a class that isn’t broken, boring or bonkers. The developers haven’t kept their promises and they surely doesn’t want their players to have fun! …Or so we are told to believe. It’s a bit of an orgy in cynicism and negativity.

This is of course a bothersome occurrence that result in people, including you Mr and Miss Foruma, disgorging bull’s feces in every direction without a single notion of soundness of argument or information scrutinization. But don’t worry, it happens all of us from time to time and thankfully it’s curable.

In fact, the best cure for Sha of Negativity is to look at the problem from all angles. Maybe you have missed something? Maybe your class isn’t broken, just different from what you have expected? Maybe you just have to re-familiarize yourself with it and see how it blooms at the endgame of Wod? Truly, do not judge a class in an environment that suits it ill, which almost all classes do in SoO at the moment. Especially Mistweavers.
