Time flies when you’re having fun, and I’ve been playing World of Warcraft like crazy. Enough to forget to update the blog as I should. But I will try to rectify that now! Here is the first batch of updates, concerning weakauras and transmog.
Weakaura HUDs for all three Monk specs
New and updated HUDs for all three specs are available here:
Weakaura Hub > WeakAura Library > Mistweaver Icon Auras
Artifact Custom Transmogs

I’ve been looking forward to sharing this for a long time. The past month I’ve been working on some new free UIs and textures for Monks. This is of course part of the update for my blog, which still has a few outdated pages (but a few less now!). These UIs are very simple Elvui profiles with some extra custom art and textures, and I hope you’ll like them!
It’s all for free, but some links lead to my Gumroad store. Just type in 0$ to download the art packages for free, or add a few dollars to show support for my work. Thanks! :)

Yesterday, a new build deployed, which mainly focused on bug fixes. There are however a few mistweaver changes to note. To boot, Brewmasters have had an intense discussion on the official forums with developers that can be of significance from a healer perspective.
- Effuse now costs 2% mana, up from 1.8% mana.
- Zen Pulse had a minor tooltip correction.
- Eminence (the PvP talent, that is) now also increases the healing of Mistwalk by 30%.
First off, Eminence now reduces the cooldown of Transcendence:Transfer by 5 sec AND increases the healing of Mistwalk. This is a beautiful case of alpha being alpha, since Mistwalk actually replaces Transcendence (that is still in place, I checked). I assume they meant “or” since we can’t have both buffs, or possibly if they are meaning to revert it so that you can have Mistwalk and Transcendence. I frankly have no idea at this point.

A new alpha build has hit the servers! The zone Azsuna is now available, and so is the Brewmaster spec. Mistweavers had a few nerfs and changes, our Class Hall has updated UI and new models have been introduced. A small spoiler tag for Brewmaster acquisition quest is in order for this post.
- Reawaken is now learned at level 44, up from level 14.
- Rising Sun Kick now costs 3% mana, up from 2%.
- Refreshing Jade Wind now heals for 225% of Spell Power, down from 355.5%.
- Refreshing Jade Wind now also increases the healing of Essence Font by 20% while active.
- Spirit of the Crane now causes Tiger Palm to make Blackout Kick or Rising Sun Kick refund 0.75% mana, down from 1%.
- Fortune Turned no longer increases the effectiveness of Gusts of Mists and periodic healing of the initial target of Renewing Mist. It has been reworked to:
- Your Effuse applies Fortune Turned to the target, increasing the healing received by your next Effuse by 15% for 6 sec. Stacks up to 3 times.
- Provoke is now available to all Monk specs.
It’s sad to see the heavy mana nerf to the fistweaving build; it reduces its viability and can potentially hurt talent diversity in the long run. But it’s only alpha and a long way till launch, we will have to see how the build performs in raid testing as well!
Monk Hall UI Updates
The Monk Class Hall has got a UI update where you can see your followers and available quest. Class Hall campaigns has also been unlocked (haven’t tried it personally though). So far, listed Monk champions are: Chen Stormsout (BM), Aegira (BM), Angus Ironfist (BM), Li Li Stormstout (MW), Hiro (MW), Sylara Steelsong (MW), Taran Zhu (WW) and The Monkey King (WW).

I have been shamefully bad at updating my Transmog page, even though I still love to experiment with my transmog sets all night long. There are so many cool Monk transmog sets out there, and since I like to compose some custom ones of my own, an update was long over due. So, I took the time to create some promos of my favourites and added it to my Customized Sets in the Transmog Guide. There are links to the gear pieces on Wowhead, so you can easily figure out where to find them. Remember – if you can’t acquire a specific gear piece, often enough there are additional items with the same look! Check Wowhead’s “Same Model As…” tab to find them.
This time around, I created some sets that do not only look good on Mistweavers, but also on Windwalkers and Brewmasters. Hope you find it inspiring!
New Monk Transmog Sets!
I will create more Transmog sets for the future. Once Legion is launched, I will do sets for each Artifact transmog as well!
Good luck with your transmogging!
The launch of Warlords of Draenor has been a rollercoaster ride of joy and frustration. The content is magnificent, beautiful and fun, but also bugged and burdened with lag. I managed to finally get my Mistweaver up to a level 100 about a day ago. It took many hours, of which half of the time I battled with D/C, freeze spikes with NPCs and characters not loading. But let me tell the tale of how the journey went.
Through the Portal – I cried for so many different reasons
Or you know, cried, laughed, and internally howled in frustration. It started with all of us logged in right before midnight. The lag had already started and everyone was crowding in Blasted Lands. I had parked myself in Deadwind Pass just to get away from the worst of it, even though that didn’t help much. When the clock struck midnight the whole server stood upon Khadgar, not letting anyone click on him to continue the quest chain. After some shuffling and shouting, I finally entered the Dark Portal.
The experience of the opening event was even cooler than in the Beta, partly because there were so many people there, and partly because there were actually NPCs there, instead of cardboard cut-outs (haha, Blizzard). It took forever to process through, the lag was vicious. I had a whole party who did it (we were four people LANing), but we all got in at different times. We met up later when we got to Shadowmoon Valley. If anyone was there at the time of the launch, you’ll probably remember the impossible raven quest when there was a complete frenzy to tag the few spawning mobs. Oh yeah, and you had to spam the banners until your fingers started bleeding. But after that, the actual levelling started.
