I have been on the alpha (build 26476) and tried the new mistweaver changes. I hope I’m catching the blizzard developers in one of their class-changing cycles right now, because there’s a lot of feedback I want to give – both good and bad! Here’s hoping that a developer sees this. I’ve tried to be clear and succinct in my feedback, but I’m still me so it’s longer than I planned. Oh, well!
Overall, I’m positive about the changes and I think we’re going in the right direction for Mistweavers. So far, I’ve haven’t had the opportunity to raid heal on the alpha, but I’ve done plenty of dungeon healing, so my focus will probably be skewed in that direction in this post. I will go through both positive changes and some of the things I want improved.
Another wave of changes has hit the BFA Alpha. This time around, Mistweavers’ talent tree has been scrambled around, while two old talents are gone and replaced with two sparkling new ones. Take a look below!
For every 6 sec Essence Font spends off cooldown, your next Essence Font may be channeled for 1 additional second.
The duration of Essence Font’s heal over time is increased by 4 sec.
Note: Baseline channel is 3 sec, this talent pushes that to a maximum of 6 seconds (before haste). Once it’s off cooldown, you can see the tooltip changes the channel time. It takes 18 sec to hit the max duration, but it ticks up by the decimals (channel time 3.0 sec, 3.1 sec, 3.2 sec, etc until it hits 6 sec).
Rising Sun Kick heals all allies with your Renewing Mist, Enveloping Mist, or Essence Font for (20% of Spell power), and extends those effects by 2 sec.
Mist Wrap no longer allows Soothing Mist to be channeled while moving.

With my very own alpha access, I can now test the new features whenever I get the urge. One of the most fun experiences is testing dungeons and since the dawn of Mythic+, knowing your ins and outs of the dungeons have never been more relevant. That’s why I have been writing new and fresh guides!
I actually have had Dungeons guides on the blog before, way back in Warlords of Draenor. My old guideslooked something like this:
They took forever to make and I remember feeling very burnt out after creating those. Not to mention that there were several other guides that were much better and came out a faster pace. Lastly, it was Warlords of Draenor which didn’t have Mythic+, so they became obsolete very fast (unless you did Challenge Mode, which wasn’t very popular, especially for Mistweavers back then).
After killing Argus Mythic, I finally got access to the Battle for Azeroth alpha! Now I can check out all the changes by myself, and keep you freshly updated. Speaking of changes, a new build rolled out and it seems that Blizzard has turned its eye to healers. Down below are all the changes they’ve made to Mistweavers.
Enveloping Mist: Instant cast and immediately heals for (130% of Spell power).
Vivify Causes a surge of invigorating mists, around the target, healing them and their 2 nearest injured allies for (75%) healing the target for (100% of Spell power) and all allies with your Renewing Mist active for (60% of Spell power).
Cost changed from 4.0% of base mana to 3.2% of base mana.
In Battle for Azeroth, we will say goodbye to our artifacts. Instead we will get a neck-piece called Heart of Azeroth, which we will empower with Azerite much like we empowered the artifacts with artifact power. Not many changes to Mistweavers, but it seems that Blizzard haven’t quite gotten to the healers specs yet. The damage classes and specs have first priority, and we’ll probably see the healer changes coming soon.
Monk Allied Races
New information on the Allied Races is trickling down the alpha mining. Two of the new races can be Monks, so here’s a small summary of the races and their racials.
I’ll be honest with you, there’s just something incredibly invigorating with Beta-periods. The alpha/beta for Battle for Azeroth has been sent out to several of my friends (not to me, but I can always shamelessly borrow from others) and there’s a sense of newness and adventure in the air. To celebrate, I’ve finally done some well-deserved updates to my poor neglected blog. And with ‘some’ I mean ‘many’.
Legion has been a blast to play, but it has caused a severe burn-out on my blog work. Between playing the game, working and doing everything else, it hasn’t been easy to justify the time needed to maintain a well updated blog. It isn’t until now at the end I finally can find time and inspiration to work on the blog. I’ve missed it a lot.
But I love change, and a new expansion is the biggest change of all in World of Warcraft. So, with new energy and inspiration I’ve finally made a lot of updates on the blog. As you might have noticed, things have moved around on the blog the past days. The Weakaura Hub has been split up to the separate Weakaura and UI Hubs. There are a few new pages and some serious rewrites. Here are the most important changes:
NEW: Battle for Azeroth – a new page that is dedicated to the Mistweaver changes that rolls out on the alpha/beta.
Monk Sets – I’ve updated and streamlined the transmog page with new images to better showcase the different sets. Sorely needed!
The Secret Tearoom – This will remain in mystery for a while longer…
I’m not done with all the updates yet. Most notably the UI Philosophy needs to be rewritten, the UI Inspiration page updated and the UI Troubleshooting guide needs several additions and subtractions. There’s a lot more work to be done, but I’ll continue with the revamp.
I have finally come home after being gone for who-knows-how long. My living room floors are renovated and my fingers are itching for some writing. Blizzcon was the past weekend and the new WoW expansion has finally been announced! Here are some of my thoughts about the new expansion.
Quick Recap of Battle for Azeroth
After the events of Legion, the two factions will once again take up arms against each other. The rivalry and conflict of the factions will be the focal point in Battle of Azeroth. Here are a few of the new features:
Level cap increased to 120.
Two new continents available:
Kul Tiras for Alliance.
Zandalar for Horde.
10 new dungeons.
New raids: first one called Uldir, Halls of Control.
